Abbey fell in love with dance at The Baltimore School for the Arts where she trained under Norma Pera and Anton Wilson. After graduating second in her class at BSA, Abbey moved to New York where she earned a BFA in Dance at The Juilliard School. As a professional performing artist, Abbey has danced with a variety of companies including Armitage Gone! Dance, The Metropolitan Opera Ballet, Les Grands Ballets Canadiens de Montréal, Dance Theater of Harlem, The Brooklyn Ballet and MorDance.
In addition to her company work Abbey has also devoted much of her career to freelance performance and teaching. As a teacher, Abbey has worked with a diverse range of students and schools from youth outreach programs, to conservatories to professional dance companies. She taught for the Ballet Tech School as an audition instructor for 8 years, has served as assistant rehearsal director for Armitage Gone! Dance, and is currently the ballet director at Mile High Dance Center in Centennial.
In addition to managing the Front Barre Staff at Lone Tree, Abbey teaches regularly at the Ballet Physique. She is a NASM certified personal trainer with a specialization in corrective exercise. She loves her team at The Ballet Physique and looks forward to coming to work in such an inspiring place where she can combine her passion for dance and fitness.
